What a Certificate of Analysis shows

A real COA is a short document with a few load-bearing fields. Knowing them is the difference between trusting a label and reading the measurement.

Identity
Confirmation the compound is the one named, by method (for example RP-HPLC and mass spectrometry).
Purity
The measured purity figure, typically reported as a percentage by HPLC.
Net peptide content
How much peptide is actually in the vial, which a high purity figure alone does not tell you.
Batch or lot number
The identifier that ties the report to a specific production run, and to the vial in your hand.
The signing laboratory
The independent lab that ran and signed the analysis.
